To steady our body and mind and accomplish the Path as quickly as possible, we can hypnotize ourselves every day—compose hypnotic sentences in advance, use our own mental thoughts to encourage ourselves, and make our hearts yearn toward them.
One: All dharmas are false and illusory;
Two: All dharmas are illusory transformations;
Three: I am in a play, I am acting in a play;
Four: This is my false imagining;
Five: This realm is something I have falsely imagined—do not take it as real;
Six: I am acting in a play together with everyone, playing a game together—we are in fact all actors;
Seven: I want to return to what is real, I want to clearly recognize ultimate reality;
Eight: I no longer want to act in a play, no longer want to live in an illusory realm, no longer want to live a false life;
Nine: I no longer want to deceive myself and others—I want to awaken to everything;
Ten: I want to become a Buddha, I want to return to what is real.
Among these hypnotic sentences, in any given realm or situation, only one or two are suitable for use; using too many easily makes the mind scattered and out of accord with the Dharma. Alternatively, according to the progress and level of one's own practice, one may use only one or two sentences during a given period to suggest to oneself; in this way, one will gradually be hypnotized into the corresponding state of mind.
