Why Can We Foreknow Certain Things in Dreams?

Precognitive dreams occur when the manas allows the mind consciousness to know in advance things that are going to happen. The manas can know events of the future that have not yet occurred and can reach into the future. Why is this so? Because, in accordance with karmic seeds, the tathāgatagarbha can know the affairs of the three realms of the world—past, present, and future. The manas, relying on the dharmas beheld by the tathāgatagarbha, gives rise to its own view. Since the tathāgatagarbha can see all dharmas, the manas can likewise see all dharmas; however, the dharmas beheld by the two are different in essence.
