Why Do We Foresee Some Things in Dreams?

Precognitive dreams occur when the manas allows the mind consciousness to know in advance things that are going to happen later. The manas can know events of the future that have not yet occurred, and can reach into the future. Why is this so? Because the tathāgatagarbha, in accordance with karmic seeds, can know the affairs of the three realms of the world in the past, present, and future. The manas, relying on the dharmas that the tathāgatagarbha perceives, gives rise to its own perception. Since the tathāgatagarbha can perceive all dharmas, the manas can likewise perceive all dharmas, though the dharmas perceived by the two differ in essence.
