All Dharmas Are Utilized by the Manas

All wealth resides within the eighth consciousness, akin to a computer; if the mental faculty does not operate, the wealth remains unmanifested. When the mental faculty desires to acquire wealth, seeks the phenomena of the three realms, or aspires to attain Buddhahood, the eighth consciousness transports all wealth forth, supplying it for the mental faculty's enjoyment. While the mental faculty must utilize the six consciousnesses and the five aggregates to enjoy it, regarding the five aggregates and the six consciousnesses as itself and as its own tools for use, much like the hands and feet serve the body. All dharmas exist for the mental faculty's use; the eighth consciousness does not use them. It is the mental faculty that clings to all dharmas and needs all dharmas. The mental faculty is the greatest "I." If it ceases to regard itself as "I," ceases to regard the five aggregates and the six consciousnesses as "I" or "mine," and ceases to regard all dharmas as "I" or "mine," then all is well. The attachments to self and dharmas are completely severed, and one may attain Buddhahood with ease.
