Equanimity in the Eleven Wholesome Mental Factors

Among the eleven wholesome mental factors, equanimity (upekṣā) refers to this: originally one intended to take revenge on someone in some way, but now one gives up and no longer seeks revenge; this accords with the unconditioned, accords with the wholesome mind, abandoning evil and practicing good. Taking revenge on someone is an unwholesome mental factor, a conditioned evil action.

The accomplishment of precepts can also enable the mind to accord with wholesome dharmas, to accord with equanimity (upekṣā), to accord with non-harming (avihiṃsā), and to accord with non-greed, non-hatred, and non-delusion.
