The Essence of the Seeds of the Seven Great Elements Is Tathāgatagarbha

The seeds of the seven great elements are permanent dharmas, unborn and unceasing, belonging to the tathāgatagarbha; they are the seeds inherently possessed by the tathāgatagarbha, and the tathāgatagarbha uses these seeds to produce all dharmas. The essential nature of the seeds of the seven great elements is precisely the tathāgatagarbha. Because the seeds of the seven great elements have never been born, they will never cease; no dharma can produce the seeds of the seven great elements. As long as there is the tathāgatagarbha, the seeds of the seven great elements exist; even within the arhat's nirvāṇa without remainder, the seeds of the seven great elements still exist within the tathāgatagarbha, unceasing. Wherever the seeds of the seven great elements are, the tathāgatagarbha must be present; wherever the tathāgatagarbha is, the seeds of the seven great elements must be present. Therefore, the seeds of the seven great elements and the seeds of the four great elements are all unborn and unceasing.
