The essential nature of the seeds of the seven great elements is the tathāgatagarbha

The seven intrinsically existing great seeds are permanent dharmas, neither arising nor ceasing; they belong to the tathāgatagarbha and are seeds intrinsically possessed by the tathāgatagarbha. The tathāgatagarbha uses these seeds to produce all dharmas, and the essential nature of the seven great seeds is precisely the tathāgatagarbha. Because the seven great seeds have never been born, they will never cease; no dharma can produce the seven great seeds. As long as there is the tathāgatagarbha, the seven great seeds exist. Even in the nirvāṇa without remainder of an arhat, the seven great seeds still exist within the tathāgatagarbha without ceasing. Wherever the seven great seeds are, there is certainly the tathāgatagarbha; wherever the tathāgatagarbha is, there are certainly the seven great seeds. Therefore, the seven great seeds and the four great seeds are all neither arising nor ceasing.
