Original text: 下品道修者。谓由此故。能断最粗上品烦恼。中品道修者。谓由此故。能断所有中品烦恼。上品道修者。谓由此故。能断所有最后所断下品烦恼。

Explanation: The cultivation of the lower-grade path means that by means of this cultivation, one can eradicate the coarsest and most severe afflictions of the higher grade. The cultivation of the middle-grade path means that by means of this cultivation, one can eradicate all the afflictions of the middle grade. The cultivation of the higher-grade path means that by means of this cultivation, one can eradicate all the afflictions of the lower grade, which are the last to be eradicated.
