(2) Original text: 若诸沙门婆罗门于法如实知。法集法灭。法灭道迹如实知。当知是沙门婆罗门。沙门之沙门数。婆罗门之婆罗门数。彼以沙门义。婆罗门义。见法自知作证。我生已尽。梵行已立。所作已作。自知不受后有。

Explanation: If various śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas truly understand the dharmas as they really are, truly understand the arising and ceasing of dharmas, and truly understand the path leading to the cessation of dharmas, then these śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas are genuine śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas, counted among śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas. These śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas, by virtue of being śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas, have seen dependent origination and can know and realize it for themselves: birth for me is exhausted, the holy life has been established, what was to be done has been done, and I know for myself that there will be no more future existence.

Original text: 何等法如实知。何等法集法灭。法灭道迹如实知。谓老死法如实知。老死集老死灭。老死灭道迹如实知。如是生有。取爱受触。六入处如实知。六入处集。六入处灭。六入处灭道迹如实知。如是诸法如实知。法集法灭。法灭道迹如实知。佛说是经已。诸比丘闻佛所说。欢喜奉行。

Explanation: What dharmas are to be truly understood as they really are? What dharmas' arising, what dharmas' ceasing, and what path leading to the cessation of dharmas are to be truly understood? It is truly understanding the dharma of aging-and-death, truly understanding the arising of aging-and-death, truly understanding the ceasing of aging-and-death, and truly understanding the path leading to the cessation of aging-and-death. Likewise, truly understanding the dharmas of birth, existence, grasping, craving, feeling, contact, and the six sense bases (ṣaḍāyatana); truly understanding the arising of the dharmas of birth, existence, grasping, craving, feeling, contact, and the six sense bases; truly understanding the ceasing of the dharmas of birth, existence, grasping, craving, feeling, contact, and the six sense bases; and truly understanding the path leading to the cessation of the dharmas of birth, existence, grasping, craving, feeling, contact, and the six sense bases. Likewise, truly understanding all dharmas as they really are, truly understanding the arising of all dharmas, truly understanding the ceasing of all dharmas, and truly understanding the path leading to the cessation of all dharmas.
