In the practice of Buddhism, one learns the formless Dharma, and the mind must gradually detach from the secular world. Only when the mind is free from the mundane and its forms can it gradually become pure and non-active, aligning with the non-active Dharma beyond the world. If even the most ordinary secular holiday is something to care about and follow along with, binding the mind tightly to the mundane world, how can one attain liberation without cultivating some detachment? Secular people are vulgar and unbearable, while practitioners ultimately aim to transcend the mundane. Therefore, we must not become too entangled with worldly affairs, sinking deeply into the secular realm without knowing how to extricate ourselves. If we run counter to the Way, when will we ever set foot on the great path of liberation?
